January 1939 was an absolute scorcher with 3 days in the top 6

January 12 1939 is the hottest according to the Bureau of Meterology at an incredible 46.1 degrees celcius.

Two days earlier it had reached our second hottest day on 10th January 1939 with 45.9 degrees.

Then it took 70 years before Adelaide reached close to that mark again. January 28 2009 the thermometer hit 45.7 degrees.

So far today we are t
he 4th hottest at 45.0 degrees.

February 14 2004 it reached the 5th hottest day of 44.3 degrees and  there have been three occasions where the temperature has reached 44.2 degrees.

That horror stretch in 1939 included 44.2 on the 13th January and 44 on the 9th of January.

In 1904 on the 31st December the mercury also reached 44.2, as it did on the 23rd of January 1982.

Thought For The Day - Life,By Wayne Roberts.

The secret of life isn't what happens to you - but what you do with what happens to you.<photo id="1" />
Help other people to cope with their problems and your own will be easier to cope with.
Never use the word impossible seriously again. Toss it into the verbal wastebasket.
Self-trust is the first secret of success. So believe in and trust yourself.
Stand up to your obstacles and do something about them. You will find that they haven't half the strength you think they have.
Joy increases as you give it - and diminishes as you try to keep it for yourself.
In giving it - you will accumulate a deposit of joy greater than you ever believed possible.
How you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself - so always think positively.
Go at life with abandon; give it all you've got. And life will give all it has to you.

The moral being....
...how you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself. It's not problems themselves that define us - but how we react and respond to them.
